Selenocosmia, a genus of tarantulas described by Anton Ausserer in 1871, is found in various countries including China, New Guinea, and Australia. Its species are known for their unique stridulation using lyra hairs, leading to their common names of "whistling" or "barking" spiders. This specimen is preserved and encased in a 9"x9" frame.
