Native to Eurasia and North America, Nymphalis antiopa boasts a unique pattern. According to L. Hugh Newman, the design resembles a rebellious girl who reluctantly wears mourning attire, but defiantly reveals a glimpse of her vibrant dress beneath. The specimen is preserved within a 9" x 9" frame.
