Mourning Cloak Butterfly

Regular price $110.00

The Nymphalis antiopa butterfly is a distinctive species found in Eurasia and North America. Its striking pattern, as described by L. Hugh Newman, bears a resemblance to a rebellious girl dressed in mourning attire, with a hint of her bold and colorful dress peeking through at the bottom. The background photograph was captured by Beth Watson at San Roch Cemetery in New Orleans, Louisiana, adding an extra touch of beauty to this carefully preserved butterfly displayed in a 6”x6" frame.
