The Statira Sulphur (Aphrissa statira) is a medium-sized yellow butterfly that can be found in the southern U.S. (specifically Florida and Texas) all the way down to South America. Male butterflies are typically a vibrant yellow with pale yellow outer margins, while females have more varied appearances, ranging from yellow to cream with black spots and borders. These butterflies' caterpillars primarily feed on plants from the pea family, while the adult butterflies enjoy nectar from red and orange flowers.
