The Actias luna, also referred to as the American moon moth, belongs to the Saturniidae family of Nearctic moths. Its subfamily, Saturniinae, is commonly called giant silk moths. Once mature, these moths typically have a lifespan of less than 10 days. This particular specimen has been preserved in a 9”x9” frame.
