Alcides is a type of uraniid moth native to northern Australia, New Guinea, and surrounding islands. Their diurnal behavior is complemented by striking, iridescent coloration. Alcides agathyrsus is a species of toxic day-flying moth belonging to the Uraniidae family. It is distributed throughout Indonesia and New Guinea. The Papilio laglaizei butterfly mimics this moth in a Batesian manner. This stunning specimen is tastefully mounted in a 9” x 9” display.
