The Alcides orontes species is a native uraniid moth found in northern Australia, New Guinea, and surrounding islands. Its striking, iridescent coloration beautifully complements its diurnal (day-flying) behavior. This particular species, belonging to the Uraniidae family, is commonly found in the Maluku Islands, including Seram Island and Ambon Island. This well-preserved specimen is displayed in a 9” x 9” frame.
