Antheraea polyphemus, also known as the Polyphemus moth, is a prominent North American species belonging to the Saturniidae family, which is known for its giant silk moths. The moth is most distinctive for the striking, purplish eyespots present on its hindwings, which have earned it its name from the Greek legend of the cyclops Polyphemus. This particular specimen is carefully preserved and displayed in a 9" x 9" frame.
