Sternocera aequisignata is a species of jewel beetle known for its stunning metallic green and sometimes coppery sheen. Found primarily in Southeast Asia, these beetles are part of the Buprestidae family and are often collected for their beautiful exoskeletons, which are sometimes used in jewelry and decorative arts. Adults typically feed on leaves, while their larvae develop inside tree trunks, where they can be pests to certain types of trees. Their vibrant coloration helps deter predators and plays a role in mating displays.
