Cethosia biblis can be found from the Indian Subcontinent eastwards to Southeast Asia to East Asia, as far as Indonesia and the Philippines.
Danaus chrysippus, also known at the plain tiger, can be found throughout Asia, Australia, & Africa. The plain tiger is believed to be one of the first butterflies depicted in art. A 3500-year-old Egyptian fresco in Luxor features the oldest known illustration of this species.
