Danaus chrysippus, referred to as the plain tiger, can be located in Asia, Australia, & Africa. It is thought to be among the earliest butterflies portrayed in art. This species is showcased in a 3500-year-old Egyptian fresco in Luxor, which holds the record for the oldest known depiction. The specimen is housed in a 5“ x 5“ frame.
