The colorful Chetone histrio, also known as the histrio tiger moth, can be found in Central and South America. It belongs to the Erebidae family and its wings feature vibrant patterns of orange, black, and white as a warning to predators about its toxicity. The moth's larvae feed on a variety of plants, including those in the Asteraceae family, and acquire toxic compounds to protect themselves from predators. This striking specimen is carefully preserved in a 5” x 5” frame.
