The Acherontia atropos, commonly known as the Deaths Head Hawk Moth, is a species that is prevalent in southern Europe and many parts of Africa. While sometimes associated with superstitions, this harmless hawkmoth does not pose significant threats to beehives and crops. The specimen on display is well-preserved and presented in a "resting" position within a 9"x9" frame.
