Deaths Head Hawk Moth

Regular price $140.00

Achrontia atropos, commonly referred to as the African death's-head hawkmoth, is a species of insect belonging to the genus Acherontia. It is named after its unique skull-like pattern found on its thorax and is commonly found in southern Europe and Africa. Though often associated with superstitions, this moth only causes minor disruptions to beehives and crops, posing little actual threat. This well-preserved specimen, paired with a decoupaged gopher mandible, comes displayed in a compact 5" x 5" frame, making it a sought-after addition to any collection.
