The Troganoptera trojana butterfly, a rare and stunning creature found exclusively on the island of Palawan in the Philippines, is a member of the Papilionidae family. With males boasting velvety black wings adorned with vibrant green bands, and females showcasing larger frames with brown wings accented by cream and green, these butterflies are a sight to behold. Their caterpillars feed on Aristolochia plants, acquiring chemical defenses, while adult butterflies visit blooming flowers in the forest for nourishing nectar.
