This particular specimen is a member of the Saturniidae family and Saturniinae subfamily, which are referred to as giant silk moths. The Nearctic moth Actias luna, commonly known as the American moon moth, has a lifespan of less than 10 days as a winged adult. It is beautifully displayed in a 9”x9” frame.
