The Madagascar Sunset Moth, also known as Chrysiridia rhipheus or Urania ripheus, is a diurnal moth belonging to the family Uraniidae. This species is highly regarded for its stunning appearance and is considered to be one of the most captivating lepidopterans. Its vibrant colors are not due to pigmentation, but rather are a result of optical interference of the iridescent wing components. The specimen is carefully preserved in a 5" x 5" frame.
