Morpho godarti, or Godart's morpho, is a butterfly species that can be found in Peru and Bolivia. It was named after the French entomologist Jean Baptiste Godart and is one of over 80 species of Morpho butterflies found in South America, with some also found in Mexico and Central America. The name "morpho" is believed to come from the butterflies' ability to change shape while flying. This exquisite specimen is beautifully preserved and displayed in a 9”x9” frame.
