Queen Butterfly

Regular price $65.00

Danaus gilippus, commonly known as the queen butterfly, is a medium-sized butterfly found in the Americas. It is closely related to the famous monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus) and shares similar orange and black coloration, but with distinct white spots and black lines on its wings. The queen butterfly's larvae feed primarily on milkweed plants, which provide them with toxins that make them distasteful to predators. These butterflies are known for their graceful flight and are often seen in gardens and open fields.

This specimen is encased in a 5“ x 5“ frame.
