Native to Thailand, Haplopelma minax is relatively secretive and likes to stay in their dens at all times except for a few hours at night when they might sit at the entrance to their burrow and wait for prey to pass by. They lack the urticating hairs many other species of tarantula use for defense, so they are nervous, aggressive, and quick to bite.
