The Acherontia atropos, otherwise known as the African death's-head hawkmoth, is a remarkable species belonging to the Acherontia genus. Its thorax is adorned with a striking skull-like pattern, making it a popular subject for superstitions. Despite its fearsome reputation, this majestic insect poses minimal harm, with only negligible effects on beehives and crops. Encased within a compact 9”x9” frame and paired with a carefully decoupaged marmot skull, this preserved specimen is a must-have for any collector.
