Regular price $120.00

Baeotus deucalion, also known as the Deucalion Baeotus, is a visually striking butterfly found in various regions of South America, such as Peru, Ecuador, and Brazil. Part of the Nymphalidae family, this species is easily identifiable by its vibrant coloration - males often have shimmers of iridescent blue or violet on their dark wings, glinting in the sunlight as they flutter. These butterflies primarily reside in tropical and subtropical forests and are most active during the warmest parts of the day. You may catch them basking or feasting on decaying fruit. The specimen is presented within a 9”x9” frame.
